Basic Salary: R248 471 p.a.  Ref. No. WS 88/13  

  • Appropriate NQF 6 technical qualifications (Construction/Engineering)  
  • A qualification as a trade-tested Artisan (Construction/Engineeririg)  
  • A Code EB driver's licence 
  • Computer literacy, ie SAP and MS Office applications 
  • In-depth knowledge of apprenticeships, artisan development, learnership, process controller training and RPL programmes
  • At least 5-8 years' appropriate experience as a Technical Trainer/Instructor in a technical training environment 
  • Preferably registered as an Assessor/Moderator/Verifier 
  • Competency in theoretical and practical tuition 
  • Experience in conducting assessments and moderation (institutional and on-the-job) and off-site training. 

The following would be advantageous: 
  • Knowledge of the water sector 
  • Knowledge of Green and Blue Drop systems 
  • Atraining qualification (Train the Trainer) e Training/ teaching experience 

Key Performance Areas: 
  • Develop and coordinate the Water and Sanitation Technical Training plan, facilitate and coordinate the implementation of the ETD strategy in compliance with legislative requirements, as well as corporate policies and procedures 
  • Implement Apprenticeships, Learnerships, RPL programmes, outcomes-based assessments, moderation and verification with the SETA guidelines and policies 
  • Design, update and implement learning materials and assessments 
  • Prepare teaching and demonstrations/outcomes-based and modular education principles 
  • Implement new technical strategies of learning 
  • Assist with conducting research, ensuring that the curricular meets industry requirements and standards 
  • Conduct analysis of skills plans and collaboration with WSP to deliver a comprehensive gap closure plan 
  • Ensure all technical training reports are up-to-date and support the implementation of training programmes 
  • Advise on the performance of the external providers 
  • Assess learners (theory and practical) and present the outcomes to Management/SETA for moderation, verification and award of qualifications 
  • Compile and update statistical information with respect to training completed, attendance levels and training targets 
  • Procure materials via SAP systems 
  • Monitor learner progress 
  • Implement safety protocols 
  • Manage the implementation of training financial controls/procedures and provide information to support financial planning
