The Institutional Planning Department is responsible for the following core functions:

• To provide management information and support for institutional planning and monitoring processes
• To promote quality assurance within the institution
• To facilitate the submission of proposals for new academic programmes
• To monitor and promote social responsiveness within the university

Aims of the Internship

• To enable people who wish to move into employment in higher education to gain exposure to functional areas that interest them within a higher education institution
• To enable people to acquire practical experience of working in a higher education institution in the fields of academic planning, the provision of institutional information, quality assurance and social responsiveness in order to position them for applying for jobs in these fields

This is a 1- year internship programme

Applications must be submitted to Ms Rochelle Speller at by 13 August 2012. The applications should be accompanied by at least two written references and a detailed motivation covering:

• Rationale for applying for the internships
• Nature of interest in higher education
• Nature of interest in the work of the Institutional Planning Department
