SALARY : R121 290 per annum, Level: 06 
CENTRE : Head Office (Pretoria) REQUIREMENTS : A Senior or equivalent certificate and the following subjects: English, Mathematics, 

 

Accountancy, Economics, Physical Science or any commercial subjects, plus 
substantial appropriate experience or progress towards a relevant tertiary 
qualification PLUS the following key competencies 2Knowledge of: Statistics and 
database administration. Spreadsheets and word processing softwareiMinerals 
and the South African mining industryiFiling systems  2Skills: Ability to use 
computer systemsiSystematic and organisedi Able to recognise anomalies and 
correct errors2Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication 
skills2Creativity: Ability to analyze and compile data. 
DUTIES : KRA’s: Validate and enter statistical information submitted by mining companies on 
to the SAMINDEX database system within specified timeframesiLiaise with mines 
where figures are questionable or have not been receivediEnsure that statistical 
returns are filed in accordance with Departmental policies and the National Archives 
and Records Service of South Africa ActiProvide clerical support to the 
Directorate: Mineral Economics. Extract information from SAMINDEX and related 
databases, and make prepare reports to client specifications Assist with specialised 
data management duties.
